Extreme Home Makeover - Kiwi Fruit Edition

We have been living like refugees/college students since we moved here because we have never been in a position where we knew that we would be staying for more than a few more months. With Mike's contract renewed and our visas sorted, we have finally felt like we can unpack and settle in a bit. Problem is: I am still profoundly cheap so going to the store and buying things was out of the question. The solution has been to slowly fix up our existing furniture, buy used things to fix up, and make a few splurges. Anyways, I have been posting most of these photos on facebook but my mom hasn't been able to see them so I figured that I would put them on here for her to see what I have been talking about and also to give a summary view of what our home looks like. So, here is a retrospective of our springtime projects:

The deck furniture that we got from our coworker and have left rotting ever since
Dressers that we refinished
Table in the living room

I took some panoramic shots around our place so that Mom (and anyone else who is interested) could see where we live. They look a bit fishbowl-y so let me assure you that New Zealand is not just two-dimensional:
Eventually this will be KF's room. We are keeping her in our room for the first couple of weeks and then we will swap our dressers in here for the bassinet and changing table that is currently in our room.
Our bedroom
The deck with our wonderful view (note that things are starting to grow in the garden)
The living room with the deck on the left. The kitchen was behind me when I took this but I didn't include a picture because who cares?
